The Game
Cricket is a game played on a circular field. There are 11 people in each team. There are 2 batsmen that come onto a 22 yard pitch in the middle of the field. On the field there are 9 fielders on the field, 1 bowler, and 1 wicketkeeper (catcher). There is a boundary around the field. If the batsmen hits the ball and it rolls or passes the boundary, it is 4 runs. If it goes flying into the crowd, it is 6 runs. 1 run is scored when both batsmen cross each other and reach the other side. 2 and 3 runs can be scored too. There are 3 stumps on each side of the pitch. If the bowler bowls the ball and the batsmen misses it and the ball hits the stumps the batsmen is out and another batsmen comes in. You can be out when the ball is caught too. The game is played until 10 players gets out or 300 balls have been bowled. After one of these things have happened, it is time for the opponnent to come in to bat and chase the runs scored by the earlier team.
